Quicksilver Story

Quicksilver Outfitting LLC was born of my understanding of how much wilderness experiences can build resilience, self efficacy and confidence in young people. Many underprivileged youth do not have the resources or  opportunity to take advantage of these experiences. and outdoor education can be eye opening and life changing.  The young people can learn valuable skills, have an amazing time and take that learning back to their community. I am a full time K-12 educator, Quicksilver Outfitting is my summer job and passion project. Our excursions are tightly scheduled and designed to contain a variety of tasks and experiences such as hiking, boating, swimming and also responsibilities such as cooking, cleaning, camp-keeping and dish-washing.  It is important to understand that some of our activities are strenuous, and EVERYONE goes, no one is left behind. We are CPR and wilderness certified, licensed and bonded.

We do try to structure the trips with youth of similar age group and same gender. Our groups are small (four or fewer) so that the youth can have a better experience and stay safe. We accept youth between the ages of 12-16. I have one or two assistants per trip.

Quicksilver Outfitting LLC is a 501 (c) (3) is open to all young ones 12-16 years of age, but is primarily for underpriviledged and at-promise youth. Excursion acceptance is earned through recommendations from educators and interviews with friends and family.
